Apple May Be Testing A Foldable Device Bigger Than An iPhone

Apple reportedly tested the reported folding will package the 9-inch OLED screen and is likely to be the iPad version instead of the iPhone fold. The latest rumors came owned by TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who tweeted earlier today that the company actively tested the 9-inch folding OLED panel which can go to the development of the iPad / iPhone hybrid. But an interesting device will not hit a shelf in the near future. Kuo initially predicted that the folding bearing of the Apple logo will arrive in 2024, but he has now revised the expectation and currently PEGS 2025 because Apple’s year finally brings a folding phone to the market. As for the device itself, it may not be an iPhone that can be folded with vibrant fans have shouted, and the panel size distributed by Kuo only reaffirmed the suspicion.

A 9-inch folding screen sounds too big for the phone; Even if it’s folded into two, the device will still be wide enough. Just look at the current cellphone folding plants on the market to understand Kuo’s claims. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 offers a 7.6-inch folding screen, while Oppo finds n makes a little more compact with the inside folding panel that offers 7.1 inches real estate screen.

Huawei Mate X2 entered the tablet category with a 8-inch folding screen, while the mixture of Xiaomi mixed with a 120HZ 801 inch screen. Kuo further added that Apple folding plans target medium devices first, followed by large machines that can become Mac, and finally, small devices intended for the smartphone segment. If the Kuo claim is something that must be passed, the new iPad model will be the first fold that comes out of the Apple design laboratory, not an iPhone.

Another report from ELEC claims that Apple is a folding OLED panel source from the LG destined for tablets, adding more substances to Kuo predictions. The panel offered by LG will depend on ultra-thin glass, a solution that also runs to Samsung and the Oppo folding phone. But keep in mind that Apple only experimented with a folding panel for technology verification, and may decide to take the project if it does not meet the quality standards and experience of the company’s user.
